Yoga: Mind Body Connection

The real deal. Excellent for beginner-intermediate. This DVD series is misunderstood
Very pleased with this video watched on Amazon Prime. Have been using a number of other techniques to learn yoga poses (books, youtube, classes), their names, their uses, and those little extra tricks that make any particular position effective. This video contains the difference between just imitating yoga poses and actually being in the correct position having gotten there in the correct way along with understanding why and the health benefits of each pose. Each and every pose is demonstrated and thoroughly explained both in terms of getting into the position and benefits. The speaker has a British-indian accent and is easy to understand.

Some of the poses are simple and some are not. But this video contains the primary basic poses and excellent instructions, excellent video demonstration along with a thorough description of the use of the poses. I learned quite a bit and have been studying yoga for a couple years, but also wish I'd started with this video ... I'd be so...

A Compendium of Asanas
This is a guide, just as described to asanas presented first with a drawing and the name of the pose, next actual model in the pose, then a demonstration of the asana with voice over instructions, followed by an explanation of benefits plus cautions. I used it for a practice but it is not really designed with a flow of moves for a practice in mind. This video is an illustrated dictionary of poses, very informative, somewhat instructional. The music is appropriate.
