Longhorns

Freeze Frame Was Invented For This Movie!
Longhorns is a sexy gay comedy that is unlike most, in that it actually has far more heterosexual characters than homosexual characters. But it still can be categorized as a gay movie, since the two main characters are gay, even though one of them doesn't realize it until late in the movie. There is a sweet romance among all of the comedic moments, and there are a couple of scenes that tug at the heartstrings. Oh, and the nudity. Good God, the nudity. There are five full frontal scenes. All the male actors in the cast show their "longhorns". And Dylan Vox is hilarious in the role of Steve. Everytime he's on screen, be prepared to laugh. Longhorns isn't the best of its type to be released this year (I liked Eating Out: Drama Camp more), but it's still well worth watching if you're gay or just "curious".

Worth the wait, lives up to the hype
longhorns was a nice movie. Was it groundbreaking cinema? No. Was it ever intended to be in the Oscar race? No. It's a cute gay love story about life in the closet in the 80's. It is short (clocking in at only 75 minutes), but that just means you don't have to worry about any slow points. in actuality i think they could have used about fifteen more minutes in the middle before Jacob Newton's character went running off to the cabin in the woods with his high school buddies, but that's just me. The acting was above average for low-budget indie. The chemistry between the characters was (mostly) believable. Derek Efrain Villanueva is wonderful, and i fell for him almost as quickly as Jacob Newton did in the movie. WELL worth the rental, and i will be buy a copy for myself as well.

A fun movie
I wanted to see this movie when it recently played at the local LGBT film festival, but I missed the screening. So I went today and picked up a copy of it on DVD and am glad I did. It's a fun movie. It takes me back to my college days in the early 80's, and some of what happens in the movie, I KNOW was going on at school, and probably more so today. All the actors do a really good job, especially Dylan Vox who is hilarious. And I also like that 'everything' is shown and not edited. You can tell that it was shot on a small budget and on a tight schedule, but it's also not meant to be the next 'Brokeback Mountain'. I've certainly seen much worse filmed indie movies before. So if you're looking for a fun romp, check this one out.

The Eagle's Children (Universities)

A must for any danzante!
Being new (3 years) to the life of Danza Azteca, this film is a beautiful testament of the birth of danza in our country!

Excellent documentary on modern traditional aztec dance.
For anyone interested in the fundamentals of Danza Azteca, Eagle's Children portrays the elemental facets of this age-old tradition. La Danza is a fusion of ancient indigenous Mexican culture and the Catholic church which functions as a catalyst for the survival of the tradition. This idea is well manifested in the images and dialogue captured in The Eagles Children.

The Danza is the dance of life - not just in the circle, but in everything.

Inside the Black Box: 11 Essentials

Really are the Essentials
So I have recently gone through a few love systems products; Magic Bullets as well as The Gentlemen's Guide to online dating. Both have exponentially increased my "productivity," if you will, in my personal life. Researching more into Love System products, I found the 11 Essentials DVD Set. I had bought two books already and the thought of having a DVD with the human emotion factor involved really intrigued me.

Once again, like my other review, I needed a pen and paper. It was impossible for me to get all this information down the first time through. Each instructor was very informative in each category and Savoy was very thorough in reviewing every aspect at the end of the DVDs. A few key notes I took away

Amazing Race Season 3 (2002)

Quite possibly the best season of The Amazing Race
The Amazing Race 3, the season that started the series' Emmy domination, is quite possibly the best all-round season of the franchise. An excellent, diverse cast of teams, an interesting and exotic Race course, and some of the most memorable tasks ever on The Amazing Race; having the season finally on DVD is long overdue. Hilarious and fun moments, quotable quotes, beautiful locations, a flood of emotions, and the infamous "Dieselgate," The Amazing Race 3 has it all. For fans that have been there from the beginning to fans that have just discovered TAR, this is a must have DVD set.

Great show, poor quality discs
This is my favorite season of my favorite TV show, and I've been looking forward to getting it on DVD for a long time. Unfortunately, this DVD-R set suffers from poor quality control. Two of the three discs that I received have heavy circular scratches/scuffs that appear to have been caused during the production process. I returned the set for a replacement, but it has the same problem, and one of the discs is completely unreadable.

Keep the Seasons Coming
CBS is continuing to release The Amazing Race on DVD. Season 3 consists of 3 discs with Episodes 1-4 on Disc 1, Episodes 5-8 on Disc 2, and Episodes 9-11 on Disc 3. This setup is much better than Season 2 which had 5 discs and 2 separate cases. The episodes also have closed captioning on them for the hearing impaired. Season 4 is also being released so pick that up too.

Sentence Builder 2 Volume Set

Don't hesitate to buy these DVD's for your child's speech development
I felt I must take the time to write a review because these DVD's have made such a big difference in my child transitioning from single word and two word phrases to sentences. The concept is that you teach them carrier phrases such as "I want", 'I like", etc. and the child uses these phrases to communicate their needs in sentence form. I have to say that there is no animation or weird story plots. They just show kids using the phrases in different ways. The quality of production is excellent (not sure why another reviewer commented that it was not) and while it's not a transformers DVD or a cartoon it is engaging and my two year old son lives watching the'big kids'talk and interact. After a week of watching it it once a dy he started using several of the phrases. Then I started prompting him for more and he started using them. For parents we might hunk this is Irving but for a newly developing talker, a late talker, or even a child with delays these DVD's are amazing and I've seen...

sentence builder 2 volume set
